Changes are coming. In truth, changes have been 2+ years in coming. And it sucks. I hate change and I hate confrontations. Something that used to be a big part of my life has been morphing into something I don’t like … something that now fills me sadness, frustration, and quite a bit of anger. It’s time to jettison it. It’s toxic. I know this. But, after nearly 30 years of our lives intertwining, it’s hard to just toss it aside. I need to because I know things are not suddenly going to self-correct or bend to my idea of the way things should be. Lots of people are watching. But, nobody wants to do anything. It’s like we are spectators watching a slow motion car crash … only we are all passengers in one of those cars that is careening towards oblivion. I need to jump free before the wreckage is strewn everywhere.

Deep breath. Jump.

Well. We survived the remnants of Hurricane Florence. There had been talk for days about strong winds and torrential rains. What we ended up with here on the creek was a nice steady rain all day yesterday and no wind to speak of. I checked the creek this morning and it’s nowhere near as high as when Hurricanes Frances and Ivan spanked us back in 2004. Yay!

Not so “Yay!” is a Facebook post I saw on Saturday night that made me feel marginalized and unimportant. So, I woke up yesterday in a pretty rotten mood and then made the bad decision to consume half a fifth of rye. It didn’t end too well (as you can imagine). And now here I am on a Monday morning feeling slightly hung over and no less upset about that slight. I am a dumbass.

I am obsessed with (and have no self-control around) … PIZZA! So, it was pretty cool to find pizza print boxer briefs when I was window shopping in the Gap Factory this past weekend. Needless to say, I bought these post haste.

When I got home, I went online to see what other cool print boxer briefs they might have on sale as the rest of the selection in the store was not the greatest. I found these totally fun ones with a “bones” print. Needless to say, I have ordered them post haste.

I might have a *slight* underwear fetish.

I usually don’t get sick … and here I am sick again. I had a sinus infection over Memorial Day weekend and now it seems like more sinus stuff is going on. I started feeling the effects last weekend and by Monday I had lost my voice. That got better by Wednesday. But now, the bug seems to have settled in my chest and stopped up my ears. Last night I have a mother of an ear ache (which thankfully is gone now). Why am I getting sick around holiday weekends?! It’s annoying.

And yes … I know that “I don’t feel well” posts are super exciting. 😛

I suspect this was written about me (though I do like cereal).
