OMG! I am not sure how this movie slipped by me … but coming to theaters on July 20th will be the new film from Danny Boyle (“Shallow Grave,” “Trainspotting” and “28 Days Later“) that is written by Alex Garland (“The Beach” and “28 Days Later“).

It’s called “Sunshine” and it looks freakin’ awesome. It also helps that some actors I really like are in it, including Cillian Murphy and Michelle Yeoh.

Oh yeah … and that Chris Evans fella is in it too.
So … kick back and enjoy the trailer. “Sunshine” opens on July 20th.

What?? No comments and pix of the 4th blast??
Well … I got really drunk … so there are some dead spots in the memory … and no pictures. Eeeeep.
Oh please God don’t let Danny Boyle go all Jerry Bruckheimer / Wolfgang Petersen on us. Sunshine is looking a little to Armageddon for my comfort.
I’ve been eyeing this warily for a while now. Didn’t realize it was so close, though.
Going “all Jerry Bruckheimer on us” is not the worry with Danny Boyle, IMO — The worry is that he goes too far in the other direction (i.e., A Life Less Ordinary, The Beach). 28 Days Later struck the perfect balance between a popcorn-y premise and his arty/pretentious sensibilities. If he can strike the same balance, this will be a classic. If not… Solaris.
I think it’s funny how they use the Return of the King music to sell *everything* even remotely SF/fantasy/action these days.
Hm. I saw the movie but I have no memory of that — probably a defense mechanism!
They used it ads for Lost at the end of last season.
Now … why would you need a defense mechanism against such a calm movie like “Requiem for a Dreamâ€? Heh. 🙂
