Those of you who have been around for the past 24 years know that this humble blog started off on Blogger and then moved to WordPress a little over two years into its life. Blogger had become cumbersome, and WordPress offered cool things like titles for posts and built-in comments. When I did the switch in early 2005, I lost all the comments on posts (you had to use an add-on for comments in Blogger and the import feature for that didn’t work with WordPress), and all the Blogger-created posts came over without titles. I made my peace with losing two years of comments, but the post title thing has been something that I really haven’t liked for 22+ years.

So …

Over the course of this year, I have FINALLY gone back and added titles to all the posts from the Blogger years. I *think* I finally finished this task yesterday. Part of me worried a little about doing this after 22 years. Is it revisionist? “Maybe” would be the answer. I tried my best to skim the post and make a title with the first thing that came to mind. I didn’t change anything in the posts themselves short of correcting some spelling errors and the odd missing word. I have never been the best typist.

One of the things I noticed during this task is the sheer number of broken links. Some of these were to previously existing photo galleries on this site (which I might try to fix as my next maintenance task). But the majority of them were links to other sites. I guess that is just a testament to the ever-changing internet.
