Local legend “PopcornΓ’β¬Β Sutton has been arrested again. Damn shame as the man makes some fine, fine moonshine.

Don’t Worry!
Boy’s Club
The fact that Bush has commuted “Scooter” Libby’s sentence totally sickens me. It’s just another example of the Bush Boy’s Club getting away with lies and deceit without having to pay the consequences.
Lite-Brite Aftermath
Turner Broadcasting Systems and a marketing company have agreed to pay $2 million compensation and apologize for their advertising campaign that caused a widespread terrorism scare, the attorney general said Monday.
The agreement with several state and local agencies resolves any potential civil or criminal claims against Turner and Interference Inc., said Attorney General Martha Coakley.

So, the city of Boston if gonna get a cool $2 million for their complete and utter stupidity. This just makes me sick.
Lite-Brite Attack!
Call me jaded … but it does seem true that people have lost all their of common sense. It totally amazes me that what basically amounts to a glorified Lite-Brite sign brought Boston to its knees the other day. I mean, honestly! Does this thing even look like a bomb or crafty terrorist plot?
World AIDS Day: 2006
More Politics
Wow. Those Republicans sure have gotten bitch slapped. They lost Congress. Rummy resigned (and finally admitted that Iraq is a total mess). Now it looks like Bolton won’t be U.N. Ambassador much longer and rumors are flying that closet case Ken Mehlman will be stepping down from his RNC post.

Post-Election
I really have been resisting the urge to gloat … but I just can’t fight it anymore!
Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah … stupid Republicans!
That courrupt fuck Charles Taylor finally got handed his walking papers. Joe Sam is back where he should be. Rumsfeld is outta here (something that should have happened a long, long time ago). And it’s now official that Dems have control of Congress.
Seems like King George over-estimated his power on this one. Yeah. You all got bitch slapped and took a “thumpin’.” Ha!
Down With “Marriage”
So, on the day when voters in eight states are probably going to ban “gay marriage” because it is such a threat to the “sanctity” of marriage between a man and woman, news comes that Britney Spears is filing for divorce from her husband, Kevin Federline. I know … who gives a shit, right? I do. It pisses me off. It’s just another example of how dismissive hetrosexuals are of a right that committed gay couples deserve to have. If marriage is so sacred, then anyone who has been divorced should never be allowed to “marry” again. I don’t remember the vow saying “I take this man until I don’t love him anymore and decide to find someone new.”
Go Vote!
It’s election day, folks … so get out there and do your part. Especially get out and vote if you live in Virginia, Tennessee, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, South Carolina, South Dakota and Wisconsin … states in which religious conservatives seek to treat you or your relatives/friends/neighboors as second class citizens. Apathy is no excuse! If you don’t vote, you are part of the problem. We can affect change (get those Republican fucks out of office) but only if YOU make the effort. Your vote does count!
Court Recognizes Same-Sex Unions
Way to go New Jersey!
“Only rights that are deeply rooted in the traditions, history, and conscience of the people are deemed to be fundamental. Although we cannot find that a fundamental right to same-sex marriage exists in this State, the unequal dispensation of rights and benefits to committed same-sex partners can no longer be tolerated under our State Constitution. With this State’s legislative and judicial commitment to eradicating sexual orientation discrimination as our backdrop, we now hold that denying rights and benefits to committed same-sex couples that are statutorily given to their heterosexual counterparts violates the equal protection guarantee of Article I, Paragraph 1. To comply with this constitutional mandate, the Legislature must either amend the marriage statutes to include same-sex couples or create a parallel statutory structure, which will provide for, on equal terms, the rights and benefits enjoyed and burdens and obligations borne by married couples. We will not presume that a separate statutory scheme, which uses a title other than marriage, contravenes equal protection principles, so long as the rights and benefits of civil marriage are made equally available to same-sex couples. The name to be given to the statutory scheme that provides full rights and benefits to same- sex couples, whether marriage or some other term, is a matter left to the democratic process.”
Gay Marriage
“Ages of experience have taught us that the commitment of a husband and wife to love and to serve one another promotes the welfare of children and the stability of society,” Bush said in his Saturday radio address. “Government, by recognizing and protecting marriage, serves the interests of all.”
Ah, the Gay Marriage debate is back in full swing just in time to get out the vote for November. There is so much that disgusts and disturbs me about this whole thing … more than I would ever want to get into here because I have some Republican friends that would never speak to me again if I went off on a true rant about this.
What I think would interesting to see (since Republicans are always talking how we gays are destroying families and very fabric of society) would be rates or stats on the following subjects which pertain to that sacred institution of Male/Female Marriage:
1. Divorce
2. Adultery
3. Multiple Marriages
4. Children Abused/Neglected
5. Children in Foster Homes
6. Children Given up for Adoption
7. Pre-Teen Pregnancy
8. STD’s
Small Town Fun
So, not only did the some guy try and abduct a woman at gunpoint at the Ingles on the Hill yesterday … when the cops seached his (possibly stolen) car, they found what was possibly explosives in the trunk. Fun!
