So, on the day when voters in eight states are probably going to ban “gay marriage” because it is such a threat to the “sanctity” of marriage between a man and woman, news comes that Britney Spears is filing for divorce from her husband, Kevin Federline. I know … who gives a shit, right? I do. It pisses me off. It’s just another example of how dismissive hetrosexuals are of a right that committed gay couples deserve to have. If marriage is so sacred, then anyone who has been divorced should never be allowed to “marry” again. I don’t remember the vow saying “I take this man until I don’t love him anymore and decide to find someone new.”

Actually, only 7 of the 8 passed. Arizona balked! (Which I know you know, but I thought I’d put it “on the record.”) And the “no” vote on the bans increased significantly from last time — this bigoted wedge tactic is losing its potency.
