Man. Did the past weekend fly by or what?
I watched “A Dirty Shame” on Friday night. Ugh. Not quite sure what I was expecting but it certainly wasn’t what I watched. The movie would have been so much better if we had gotten to Chris Isaak or Johnny Knoxville shirtless. Or maybe if the movie didn’t look so polished and was more like “Pink Flamingos.” I don’t know … the whole movie just didn’t work for me.
I think it pretty obvious what I did during the day on Saturday. Saturday night I met Franke, the Webbs and Christy for a few drinks and conversation. Franke, Christy and I ended up back at my place drinking on the porch and chatting late into the night.
Sunday was the day that got shot. I was awakened by a call. Dad’s springbox had sprung a leak and he needed me to come help him fix it. So, I jump out of bed and turn on the radio to listen to the news while I scarf down some cereal. The radio comes on for about 30 seconds and then there is a loud “POP” and my receiver is dead. Damn. So, after helping dad with the springbox (hydraulic cement is fun!), it was off the Asheville to procure another home theater sound receiver. Whoo. I stopped by The Bear on my way back into town and hung out there for a bit. Then it was off to the house to hook up my new receiver. I watched “The Motorcycle Diaries” last night and really liked it.
Plus, I only bought two dvds this past weekend (“The Powerpuff Girls: Season One” and “City of God“).

Oh come one, Selma Blair stole that movie. I do agree raunchy humor and an relative high budget don’t really mix. With money, John waters feels out of his element to me. Nonetheless, I liked it save Chris Isaak was underused and quite overdressed.
