I was back at Urgent Care again this morning for a check on how my finger is healing. Since surgiseal actually gets down in the wound, they have to dissolve it in some sort of solution. So, after and hour of soaking my finger and cutting little bits and pieces of the dressing off, the nurse finally just had to yank it off. Not the most pleasant sensation in the world but it was definitely better than having the surgiseal applied in the first place. I was thinking yesterday that when the bandage came off that I would be surprised at just how small the wound is and feel silly about all the fuss … but, no … I took a pretty good hunk of my flesh off. It’s clotted somewhat and is still seeping a little bit of blood. The nurse informed me that it would “ooze” like this for a few more days. Fun! So, now it’s wrapped up in non-adherent pad (with some triple antibiotic cream) which I will get to change and re-wrap as needed. The cool thing about this is I can now easily unwrap my finger and show folks the gapping, bloody wound. I am gonna see how many people I can gross out before the weekend is over. Yeah!

picture please. (and pictures of the living room while you’re at it).
