So, I went back to my doctor yesterday and he confirmed pretty much what I suspected … that my old friend Streptococcal Pharyngitis is back. The Doc seems to think that I just have a really resilient strain of the stuff and that the last round of drugs didn’t clear it up totally. So, now I am on 1500 mg a day of Penicillin for the next ten days.

If I relaspe a third time … then he said we would check and see if I might be getting sick off the totally cute fella I have been kissing on. Apparently one can be a strep “carrier” and not show symptoms. That would be my luck. Totally Hot Kisser plus Carrier of Illness. But honestly, I am not too worried about it right now. I’ll deal with that if it happens again.

I have felt nowhere near as bad this time around which is great. I have a slightly sore throat, no temperature and just feel a wee tired. It’s not even been close to what it was like a couple of weeks ago when I totally thought I was gonna die.

Strep is also a wonderful thing … especially when you can chase away pesky co-workers with the threat of breathing on them. Now that’s fun!
