This past weekend was horrifyingly depressing for so many reasons … some of which you ain’t gonna hear about …. screw that “Back to Blogging ’06” shit.
The River District Artist’s Studio Stroll was fun to a point. I wasn’t feeling 100% well on Saturday. We saw some nice art but it was all way too damned expensive. Art isn’t made for the poor person to afford it. I really wonder how some of those artists actually make money to keep their studio spaces with the price tags that we encountered. The art I like the best was some woman doing some cool digital art. The print (mind you … I just typed “print”) that I liked was $2950 framed. Sheesh.
I am gonna end up back at the doctor’s office tomorrow. I just know it.

Thats a very hefty price for a print. Im not sold on most contemporary artists charging that much. Hey as an amateur artist i know how much the materials cost, sometimes the “value added” isnt that much.
