I am not one who really enjoys filmed concerts. If I am going to see a band I prefer to do it live and get the full joy of the experience. Anyway … this weekend I finally popped the money for Portishead – Roseland New York. Wow. It’s definately worth checking out. Even though it comes across really polished, Portishead’s music has added weight with the addition of a live orchestra and horn section. The DVD also comes with the short films and videos from the band. Plus, you get the added joy of seeing ultra-cute bassist Jim Barr (see above).
