Gosh. The last few days were so crazy/busy … another one of those “gotta go back to work to get some rest” kinda holiday weekends.
Friday
Got my copy of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” ordered … finally. We are just a mere tens days from its release. Tee-hee!!! Alas, the cute bookseller was not at the store. I guess we can’t have everything, can we?
Saturday
Hosted the ten-year reunion of the “Seven,” a great group of friends that all met while doing a show. Several folks came in from out of town for the occasion. It was really great to reconnect with people that I hadn’t seen (in person) in a few years.
Sunday
Then it was back to hosting agin as practically anybody who is anybody came to my place for “The 4th on the 3rd” cookout. I stayed sober. Other folks were making drunken confessions. Amazing. I think most folks had a good time. Big new of the day was that I have been asked to direct “Cabaret” next year for the local theater. Crazy!
Monday
“War of the Worlds,” baby! I dug the movie. It’s not the greatest piece of cinema. I really just wanted to see aliens blow shit up, and that’s what I got. The movie really suffers from the typical Spielberg “tricks” … but did I mention that aliens blow shit up?
“Ratime: The Musical” is gonna make us all look like idiots. ‘Nuff said.
