okay, so here’s the scoop to this point on the delayed canadian release of “high tension”. apparently the company that’s releasing the film in canada thought that there was too much competition from the big boys (batman, star wars, etc.) to open the film on june 10. instead they are opting for a release date some time in august. it’ll be interesting to see if it does better than the u.s. release or if its mediocre showing at the u.s. box office will squash a canadian theatrical relase.
Yeah. I think that releasing it right in the middle of the startup of the summer movie season helped kill it. There all sorts of talk about Lions Gate not promoting the film on TV well either. Oh, well!
