Ah, the weekend is over. Another one gone before it could be enjoyed … especially since the weather was so, so sweet.
Friday Night:
We partied for Michelle’s B-Day at her new digs. I got to meet some of her new neighbors and hang out with some folks that I hadn’t seen in a while. Seemed like everyone had a nice time. Of course, the MagicSing made an appearance. Whee! Songs sang by me were “Like a Virgin,” “Bette Davis Eyes,” “Separate Ways,” Let’s Dance,” “Don’t You Want Me” and “Been Around the World.” I called it am early evening as PT, Matt and I were gonna be heading into the woods bright and squirrely the next morning.
Saturday:
The fellas and I didn’t end up going on the Mount Cammerer hike (bummer) as PT had to be back in time to clean up for a 6:00 p.m. engagement. So, we headed down into the Cataloochee Valley and enjoyed a loop hike involving the Caldwell Fork, Big Fork Ridge and Rough Fork. Sites that were enjoyed along the way were the elk enclosure, old mountain farmsteads, Big Poplars and a certain cute Park Ranger Murphy. That evening I was in the mood for some questionable movies, so I rented “The Rundown” and “The Transporter.” While enjoyable as a piece of fluff cinema, “The Rundown” was mostly saved by the fact that Sean William Scott gets shirtless during part of the movie. You may think that I am crazy, but if The Rock ever gets a really good action script he could really be quite a good action movie star … far better than A-nold ever was. The only good thing about “The Transporter” was Jason Statham and Jason Statham shirtless.
Sunday:
Sundays have turned into lazy days. Slept in late, napped on the couch most of the afternoon and grilled out with the roomie and his woman. Mmmmmm, grilled meat!
