Ha, ha … it’s a movie about thinning the herd!

Opening Friday

Yup. I am in another show … and, if the weather holds out, you should come see it. I kiss lots of women and save the day!
Snowpocalypse II
As of this morning is cold and sleeting. The forecast is calling for sleet turning to snow lasting through the evening hours. Looks like it’s gonna be a lazy day on the sofa under a blanket!
Here’s the back deck first thing this morning.

Here’s an obligatory Snow Self-Portrait from yesterday afternoon.

Snowpocalypse (Redux)
Wow. What an excellent winter it is here in the mountains!
The weather folk actually got it right again and I am currently rockin’ around 9″ on my back deck (the forecast is now predicting the possibility of 8″-12″).

… WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON…
A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW WILL TRANSITION TO MOSTLY SNOW ACROSS THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THE PRECIPITATION WILL SPREAD INTO THE FOOTHILLS AND PIEDMONT DURING THE EVENING… WITH MAINLY SNOW EXPECTED ALONG THE I-40 CORRIDOR. THE SNOW WILL FALL THROUGH MUCH OF THE OVERNIGHT HOURS FRIDAY… BEFORE GRADUALLY TAPERING OFF SATURDAY. ALTHOUGH UNCERTAINTY REMAINS REGARDING THE AMOUNT OF PRECIPITATION THAT WILL FALL… CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 10 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS MOST OF THE WATCH AREA. AMOUNTS MAY BE A LITTLE LESS IN THE VALLEYS OF THE SOUTHWEST MOUNTAINS… AND IN THE PIEDMONT… WHERE SNOW WILL MIX WITH SLEET AND RAIN OR FREEZING RAIN AT TIMES. SNOWFALL TOTALS MAY BE HIGHER ACROSS THE HIGH ELEVATIONS OF THE MOUNTAINS… ESPECIALLY IN AREAS NEAR THE BLUE RIDGE.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW… SLEET… OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.
Quickie Recommendation
So, yeah … I am now totally in love with Editors.
Asheville is Gay!

Who knew? I live next door to the 12th gayest city in the nation (that’s Asheville, NC for you slow folks)… according to Advocate.
“‘Avatar’ … seriously?”
That was my reaction on hearing that “Avatar” had snagged the Best Motion Picture (Drama) award at the Golden Globes. I mean … what the fuck?!!? “Avatar” may be groundbreaking in eye-popping visuals category, but there were much better movies (on the whole) out there this past year. I hope this isn’t any indication about how the Oscars will swing.

Just Some Things and Stuff
Oh, Blog of Mine …
We’ve been at it a little over 7 years now. I was thinking about that the other day. You’re birthday came up and slipped by me in November of last year … probably because I was depressed and distracted.
I know I haven’t been posting as much and as regularly lately. I have been suspecting that I might have run out of things to say. I have been suspecting that maybe I have toned things down a little too much. Remember the good old days when I would post lots of naked pics of hot gay porn stars? Those days were fun … but I seemed to have moved past that. I am sure that Facebook and Twitter haven’t helped matters any. Now anybody and their brother can be an idiot on the web just like us long-term bloggers.
I have upgraded you to the newest version of WordPress, dear blog. I have slapped a new look on you (which still needs some work). I have added that Twitter widget thingy to the side so my Twittering (shudder) makes it here as well. I don’t want to be a total social media blogging whore … but I am hoping a balance between the old and new way of online presences can be struck.
So, I promise to equal out my attention between you and Facebook and Twitter … and hopefully I will have some fun and interesting things to share in this new year.
Music Edition
Dr. Who-Definition!

Needless to say, I am pretty damned excited about this. I am sure that Dr. Phibes is too … after his visit from Santa this past year. The release date is February 2nd … less than one month away!!!
