Zombies!
Franke, Jonesy and I joined in on the fun of the Zombie Walk over in Asheville yesterday. My major complaint about the event was that the zombies were more “walking” than “shambling.”
Here’s some pictures of the bloody fun …

And if you look hard … you can spot me in this video of the pre-walk gathering near Riverview Cemetery. Franke and Jonesy are pretty visible.
Opening Tomorrow!
And eight weeks later … here we are. “Floyd Collins” opens tomorrow night! You’d better come see it or you won’t be my friend anymore.

At Rehearsal …
Finally! I got off my lazy ass and now present to YOU some rehearsal photos from Act II of “Floyd Collins.”

A Few Weeks Ago …

Some of us worked a fundraiser for the theater. Roles from “Cabaret” were reprised as we entertained the folks that paid a lot of money to be there. Pictured above (thanks to Christy!) are the fellas (including me) lookin’ all sexy …
And “Floyd” Soldiers On …

Look at part of my great cast so diligently rehearsing their music. I am so glad that I don’t have to sing that stuff. It’s beautiful … but it’s hard. I think it’s probably way harder than any of us expected. We are still down two cast members and I am still searching high and low for fellas to play Lee Collins and Ed Bishop. I have had so many rejections from guys that I have asked to be in the show … it’s almost makes me think of my romantic life. Oh well …
The Birds Meets Barbie!
Thanks to a heads up from Jonesy, I know have the coolest doll … ever! Who would have guessed that I would actually be buying a Barbie Doll (no comments from the peanut gallery please!).

Don’t Play With Fire, Kids!
The 4th of July party went pretty well with lots of folks and burgers and some shimmery fountain fireworks and sparklers. Folks were gone by midnight. I cleaned up some and headed to bed.
Suddenly it’s 6:30 a.m. and there’s someone pounding on my front door. It’s my neighbor and she’s yelling that my back deck is on fire. I ran through the kitchen to look … and sure enough the deck was on fire. I freaked out and grabbed the water hose and started dousing the fire. After it was out, I called the fire department and they sent someone and the police came as well. Information was taken for official reports and I have to pick them up today as well as getting up with my insurance agent.
It is suspected that a spark from a sparkler landed under the deck and smoldered until it finally caught fire. I won’t ever really know for sure what started it. Thank God my neighbors were up early for their yard sale and saw the smoke.

It goes without saying that there will be no sparklers on the deck from now on.
Abandoned!

The eggs have hatched and now the nest is abandoned except for the one lone egg that didn’t hatch.
In The Woods

PT, Michael and I headed into the woods for a hike this past Saturday. We went back to the cascade (and rock cliff) on Sam Branch. PT and I have done this trail a few times but Michael was a newbie to it have just moved back to the glorious mountains. I always forget just how dang steep this trail is. There are some more pictures and things that you can see inside.
Meanwhile …
Monday I discovered that there’s a bird’s nest in my unruly Yucca plant that’s in the backyard.

Inside the nest there are four super tiny eggs. I wish I knew more about birds to be able to guess what kind of eggs these are. Hopefully I will be able to get a picture of the babies when they hatch!
Ouch!!!

It cost me $56 to fill up the Bug yesterday.
NYC (The Lowdown)
You know … it seemed like my New York City trip would never get here and now it come and gone. *Sigh* I wish I had more money and less work thus letting me stay longer. When is that rich and long lost relative gonna die and leave me their millions?!?!?
The flight up last Thursday was running just a wee late. Nothing too major to get stressed about though. I traveled from the Newark Airport (via the Airtrain) out the New Jersey transit station. You can hop the train to Penn Station and the grab the subway down to the East Village.

I hung out at Scott’s place until he got home and then we hung out, had dinner and watched some television. BJ came up and joined us. It was a nice relaxing way to start the trip.
