Whew. This past weekend was waaaaaay too alcohol-soaked. Oh yeah … and some of the fellas and I went for a hike on Saturday. Pictures will appear soon-ish.

Golly. I am in such a fuckin’ good mood right now. Mark this down folks ’cause I don’t even remember the last time I was in this good a mood. Maybe I need more 3-Day Weekends.

Whoo! A 3-Day Weekend is coming up! Double Whoo!

I have 3 (count ’em) different parties/gatherings to go to this weekend. It kicks off tonight with Champagne and Strawberries at out local State House Reps place. Yes, yes. I will get to hobnob with the big wigs. Tomorrow afternoon/evening Jen and Dan will be hosting a big, drunken cookout. There ain’t nothing better than burgers and beer … except for possibly ice cream (and maybe pizza and beer). Monday will be some drinkin’ and porchin’ at my place.

I finally got to see some of “Ghost Hunters” last night. Pretty interesting show but nowhere near as scary or creepy as I was hoping it would be. I hearts me some ghosts and ghost stories. For those of you who don’t know, *supposedly* my house is haunted.

Still dry, dry, dry here in the mountains and there is no rain in sight. That rain the other day that had me all excited lasted about three minutes and was done. Residents of our county (along with 11 others) are now being directed to stop all nonessential water use.

Who cares about that stupid pirate movie that opens this weekend? Go see “Bug” instead.

Speaking of movies … I still need to watch the “Viva Pedro” box set that I bought. Maybe I should take it to NYC with me and Scott and I could have an Almadovar film fest. Scott *loves* the films of Pedro Almadovar.

Tee-hee. NYC is only three weeks away!!!

Preston and I are talking about a hike tomorrow. Maybe we can go someplace where we can hike and then go swimming. That would be sweet … and very cold considering how those mountain steams are.

Seems like I have been all about randomness lately.

I bet you all wish I were being more about “hump.” Heh.

It’s only three weeks until NYC. What sort of adventures await? Well, “Spring Awakening” for sure. Folsom Street East. Maybe a sex club if I can work up my nerve (which I doubt I will).

Dr. Phibes (“Howdy!”) is alive and well and back in the States for a couple of weeks until he has to go back for his final months of civilian service in Iraq.

OMG!!! It’s raining outside! That sweet ’cause it’s only May and my yard is already turning brown and ugly. It’s usually not until August that that happens. As you can probably guess, it’s been super dry here in the mountains.

I am becoming quite addicted to buying used dvds from Netflix. Grrrrrr.

I have finished Charles Frazier’s “Thirteen Moons.” Some people have liked it better than “Cold Mountain.” My opinion is that it’s a very worthy follow up but I think that Inman and Ada’s doomed romance is far more haunting and beautiful.

I know we don’t audition for another two months and don’t hit the stage until the end of September, but “Cabaret” is starting to take shape already. I have been thinking quite a bit about the staging of the show. I now have a choreographer on board. She seems really excited about working on the show and we seem to be on the same page on most things. So on August 6th & 7th all the Sally and Emcee wanna-bes will get their chance to show me their stuff. It’s gonna be interesting to see who makes the grade. Yeah. I do have a slight “God complex” when I direct a show.

Memorial Day weekend is coming up (Whoo! Paid Holiday!). I will have to carve out some time to see “Bug.”
