Sheesh

President Bush on Thursday defended his decision to exclude countries that did not support the U.S.-led effort to topple Iraqi President Saddam Hussein from bidding on some $18.6 billion in reconstruction contracts.

But he added that he still wants those countries to contribute to Iraq’s recovery by forgiving its debts.

Asked whether the exclusion of those countries from bidding on construction contracts violates international law, Bush said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about by international law. I better consult my lawyer.”

Jesus. This man is actually our leader. Depending on how 2004 goes, I might just move to Canada.

Bush Ends Steel Tariffs
Bush’s reversal on the tariffs comes less than a month after the World Trade Organization’s highest court ruled that the tariffs violated global trade laws, and just before the European Union planned to launch sanctions against $2.2 billion in U.S. goods, including politically sensitive products like citrus from Florida and textiles from the Carolinas …

The EU threatened to sanction U.S. goods, including citrus from Florida, where Bush’s brother Jeb is governor and the state where a dispute over a few hundred votes gave Bush the White House in 2000 …

Ah, yes. Good thing that ole Dubya knows how to scratch his brother’s back.

“Crimes Against Nature”

“Cloaked in meticulously crafted language designed to deceive the public, the administration intends to eliminate the nation’s most important environmental laws by the end of the year. Under the guidance of Republican pollster Frank Luntz, the Bush White House has actively hidden its anti-environmental program behind deceptive rhetoric, telegenic spokespeople, secrecy and the intimidation of scientists and bureaucrats.”

“Crimes Against Nature”

Wow!

“Marriage is a sacred institution between a man and a woman. Today’s decision of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court violates this important principle. I will work with Congressional leaders and others to do what is legally necessary to defend the sanctity of marriage.” George W. Bush

Wow! The Iraqi War aside, Dubya has to be the greatest leader this country has ever had. He’s open minded and everything. Yes, yes.

Wow!

Hi, George

“Hi. My name is George and I need your help. Iraq needs your help as well. I know that the economy in my country is in horrific shape, but I need my government and fellow countrymen to somehow fund an additional $87 billion to make sure my imperial vision for that poor little country holds true. And now that our troops stationed there are being slowly picked off one by one … I need you, other nations of the world, to put your men in harm’s way as well so that my global vision of democracy can get a foot hold in the Middle East. Sure, I exaggerated about the WMDs and Saddam’s capabilities of making/using them. Sure, I lied about the ties between 9/11 terrorists and Iraq. Can’t we just let that go? Now is your chance to step up to the plate and show me support I so richly deserve. Because, with me at the helm, we can not fail in our mission for an American global structure, whether anyone likes it or not.”

Hi, George

Eyeroll

I was just in a psuedo-political discussion with my boss. It amazes me that anytime you bash Dubya to a staunch Republican the first thing they do is say Clinton was the worst President this country has had. I think it speaks volumes that most Republicans can’t defend their golden boy.
