Finally … NYC

Finally. Here are some photos from the NYC trip. Over the years I have found that I take fewer and fewer pictures while I am in the city. But below, you will find some city, some beach, Scott, The Man and some Folsom East.

Dr. Phibes on the street …

At Jacob Riis Park …

Seagull!

Beach Feet.

Beach Candy!

At Sidewalk with Scott and Grindr.

Blue Moon (which is apparently all the rage now).

The Man in the sun at Sidewalk.

This is me slightly drunk at Nowhere (you can’t see Sleepy Will).

At Folsom East …

More of the crowd at Folsom East.

Finally … NYC

No Time To Be Wicked

And no time to rest either!

Summer always gets busy, busy, busy. I freelance for the local community theater (duh, you know that) and once the season gets rolling it’s a non-stop mayhem of posters, newsletters, programs, ads, web updates … plus whatever else they can throw at me.

“Chicago” is up and running which means I gotta get stuff for “Catfish Moon” rolling (opens at the end of August). Fast behind that is “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story” (opens at the end of September). Plus, throw in the season brochure for 2011 (my most hated project) AND the website which I still haven’t gotten totally finished.

This has been an official, whiney “I have too much work to do” post. Hope you have enjoyed.

I Am, In Fact, Not Dead

So, yeah … I got back from NYC in a messed up head space. That’s not really a shocker considering how this year has been going. I spent the next week getting kinda corrected (and in the process avoiding most of my social obligations). Then the other shoe dropped.

So yeah … my mortgage company is suddenly all “Oh! My! God! You don’t have flood insurance and you need it NOW, NOW, NOW or we will force place it on you!!!” Nothing gets me more wound up than unexpected bills … especially ones that could cost upwards of $2,000 right after a vacation where I have already spent a chunk of my saved up cash. After days of completely freaking out, things are finally settled. Now I just have to adjust my brain to having a slightly higher mortgage payment each month. And it’s all because of stupid FEMA and their stupid Flood Zones.

So, yeah … about that NYC trip and those photos. More details soon.

Losing Entry

So, about a month ago I entered a logo contest for the fifth year of Tidal Wave (a water park party in Florida for hot, burley, fuzz men). My design wasn’t chosen, but I did get a nice message from one of the organizers.

On a personal note, I loved your design.  Unfortunately it was not chosen as the winning design for the five year challenge, but if you wouldn’t mind, it’s one I’d like to hold on to and consider for use in a future year.

Huzzah!

Blog Abuse!!!

I should be arrested! I don’t know what it is with this year … but I’m having a lot of trouble finding the energy to keep you updated. There been a modicum of stuff going on worth blogging about.

1. I have done two shows so far this year. I was in “Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar and Grille” and directed “Suessical.” For the record: “Seussical” broke my brain.

2. I went off my brain meds a few months ago. I am still debating about whether that was a good idea or not. Most days the answer is “not.”

3. I have been in e-mail contact a few times with my Porno Obsession.

4. Gotten a hold of a lot of really good music as it’s been a pretty good year so far for that.

5. I entered a logo contest and lost … but somehow won (more on that later).

6. I am going to New York City in one week … Scott, The Man and Folsom East await.

Alrighty, blog. Hope you don’t feel so abused now.

Colby Keller (Update)

I haven’t posted much in the past year or so about my porno actor obsession Colby Keller. It looked like, despite his total hotness, he was set to disappear from the world of porn. But, thankfully that hasn’t happened!

In the last year he’s been popping up all over the place … Cocksure Men, Massive Studios, Mustang Studios, Dominic Ford, Real Guys Exposed, Bound Gods … and a few I am sure that I don’t know about.  It’s been *win*win* for us Colby admirers.

Plus, he’s also blogging at Big Shoe Diaries. Be sure to check it out!

Movin’ Forward

“Seussical” is now done … which means moving forward onto the rest of the work of the season (posters, banners, newsletters, ads, website updates, etc.). How the hell did I ever get in this deep? Yikes. I remember the good ‘ol days of just doing the posters. Speaking of which … here’s the next one, fresh from approval by the man in charge.

Quickie Update

“Seussical” cranks back up on Friday for a final three performance grab for glory. Then it can be put to bed and you all can be “Thank God. He’s done whining about this one!”

Past that, the grass in the yard is getting taller and I am becoming more and more convinced about just how much life in general sucks.
