For Trachalio:
Yep. It’s so sad that DJ Shadow will never be mine. I have obsessed over him for a few years now. I can’t even tell you how many times I have watched his segment in the movie “Scratch.”
For Homer & Ben:
Yes. The bed was very cozy. The chilly weather has made me add extra blankets. They make the bed very cozy and warm. Yes. The bed would have been cozier with Mr. Burroughs there (or anybody for that matter). But, what can ya do?
I Am Totally Crazy
I suspect that the drop in my mood (which kicked into high gear this week) is the upcoming holiday. Evil should be back in town and I know what that means. Why do I worry about, you ask? I really don’t know. That must mean all the cylinders aren’t firing. I know you’re sick of hearing about this. Get over it.
Weekend Plans
Clean. Clean. Clean. I gotta get started on getting all the ripped down drywall outta my bedroom. I gotta sort through some old clothes that were piled in the closet. I gotta straighten up the living room and kitchen then sweep, dust, mop. I gotta get the dead leaves outta the front yard. Maybe all this will keep my mind off being crazy. Whoo.
Get Pink
Homer brings up the point of insulation being itchy. It’s not really that bad anymore. The current insulation being sold is slightly itchy but nowhere near as horrible as the old stuff. I have the old stuff in my attic. It’s probably been up there 50 years. That stuff is pure fucking evil. I was gonna remove it and put down new insulation … but after touching one piece I decided that was the worst idea on the planet. Main thing is to remember to have a cold shower afterwards. Heh.
In The Mountains: Part IV
After work, I will go to the local Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse.
There I will purchase R-13 3-1/2″ Insulation.
There I will purchase Contractor Trash Bags.
There I will purchase Outside and Inside Corner Strips.
There I will purchase Electrical Outlet Boxes.
After Lowe’s, I will have dinner with my father and step-mother.
After dinner, my father and I will reframe the closet in my bedroom.
After reframing, my father and I will remove more drywall.
Up Next On This “Old House”

And now … a walking tour in which I say, “As you can see” way too many times.
Are You Bored Yet?

The thing that I dislike about my bedroom the most is the closet. When the previous owners re-did the house they expanded the kitchen into one of the bedrooms. Thus, the closet in my room got expanded to include the closet in the lost room. For some reason they didn’t do it properly … so my closet has always had two doors. Fun!

See … one door, two door.

Yep. Definitely gonna have to fix this so it’s one big closet. Heh. Look at me in the closet.
Weekend Excitement
You can tell what I did this weekend. Other highlights include drooling on the Stanley Closet Organizer Systems at Lowe’s and buying new underwear and socks.
The Return of Mr. Destructo!
Now that all that theatre stuff is over for the year I have cranked back into Mr. Destructo mode. I have spent the last few nights tearing down the paneling in my bedroom. No, I’ll say that I hate paneling. I hate that cheap, thin “tack it up and be done” paneling. That’s what I have. If I had the real thing (big, thick, sturdy … like in my Grandmother’s house) I probably wouldn’t mind as much.

See. It’s bad. It’s tacky. It’s comin’ down!

Just look at that mess that I have to clean up now. All that old molding and paneling is gonna make good for a bonfire in the back yard.

Turns out that the room used to be blue. Now, if my house were in the southwest (or big city) this color would probably work pretty well.

There was lots of wood in my house last night … but not the good kind. Boo hoo.
More To Do …

How silly of me. I didn’t want black bookcases after all. Metal is the way to go! I think these will look really cool with my computer desk (which has a silver base and frosted glass top). Just gotta get the shelves painted to match the molding. Will the painting ever end?
On the Hunt
Finding black bookcases in this town is about like trying to get a date in this town … impossible. I have a mighty need for black bookcases.
News & Randomness
Home Improvement News:
Well, just a few more days and my office will be finished. I have to let the floor “cure” until Sunday before I can put any furniture on it. That allows me some time to get the finishing touches done. I’ll put down the baseboards tonight and spend the next couple of days getting my bookcases painted. Then it’s on to ripping my bedroom to pieces. Whoo. A handyman’s work is never done.
DVD News:
The Unrated Director’s Cut of “Dawn of the Dead: 04” hit stores today. Yes! More Gore! More Blood! More Chainsaw Action! More Zombie Carnage! I am not the least bit excited …
Theater News:
Friday we perform “Coyote on a Fence” again before our trip to competition on November 6. This is the show in which I play an imprisoned Nazi skinhead. So, if you happen to be in Salisbury, NC on the 6th, you should drop by and watch us in action at the Meroney Theater (home to the Piedmont Players). That night we will find out if we go on to represent our state at the Community Theater Competition at the Southeast Theater Conference in March of next year.
Other Randomness in a Random Order:
1. Been listen to too much Diamanda Galas.
2. The greatest holiday of the year is Sunday.
3. I heart “Arrested Development.”
4. My flirting skills are as suspect as my typing skills.
Wood (Floors)

Worry over really needing to sand and start from scratch on the floor was heavy on my mind Sunday as I started the refinishing. Would Varathane’s Renewal system do the trick?

Yow! Renewal provided a vast improvement. There are a few stained spots and high traffic areas in the room that would have benefited from sanding … but considering I spent $70 and only one day, I am very happy with the results.
Hard Wood Fun

And here is what I spent my Saturday night doing. Striping spots of old paint off the hardwood floor is fun I tells ya. Much more fun than relaxing with a beer.
This Weekend
Yep. Got a really hot time planned for this weekend. Hopefully I will get treated right. I decided to try this product as I don’t know jack about hardwood floors. Hopefully it will work well enough so that I don’t have to sand, sand, sand, stain and seal the floor. Yep. I have floor restoring products instead of any prospects for a date.
In other news:
My bosses gave me a shirt for some reason. It’s got Homer on it. This Homer. Not that Homer.
For the record:
Ladybugs are fuckin’ evil.
