OMG … Evil Nipples!!!

The big news of the week for some people is the release of “Celebration,” the mega Madonna greatest hits collection. Also, a good chunk of her video work is available with the iTunes Deluxe Video Edition or the “Celebration: The Video Collection” 2-Disc DVD. Pretty excellent, eh?

Not quite.

What’s sad about the whole affair is the “Justify My Love” video. Nearly 20 years after it’s initial release, this video is still being censored! You would think that people would have gotten over this by now … and you would think that Madonna wouldn’t have allowed the censored version to be put as part of such a big retrospective of her video work.

Who knows. Maybe she didn’t have any say so since this is Warner’s last chance to make some money off her (the set contains 2 new tracks).

Regardless the reasons …
We have to keep those evil nipples under wraps!

So, my bratty 160GB iPod Classic finally drove me up the wall last week!!!

Crash. Reload. Crash. Reload. Reload. Crash. Crash. Crash.

But thanks to the friendly folks at Best Buy (and their “6 Months/No Interest” plan), I now have a shiny new 16GB iPod Touch!

Not having ALL my music with me is gonna take some getting used to. But, I think the Wi-Fi Access and Mail Client are more than gonna make up for it.

Other Weekend Weekendiness

So … some other things happened this weekend!

I saw The Faint and Ladytron at The Orange Peel on Friday night! The show was pretty awesome even if the opening act (Crocodiles) was kinda crappy. The dynamics of the bands was kinda fun to see. The Faint was totally frenetic and all over the stage … whereas Ladytron was very subdued in their presentation.

And … this Thursday I get to see Mogwai at The Peel!!!

A couple of movies got viewed off Netflix as well. And both were better than I thought they would be.

Quarantine” is soooooooo much better than the trailer or advertising would lead you to believe. I must confess that I was curled up in a fetal position on the couch for much of the end of the movie. Now I really want to see “REC,” the Spanish movie on which “Quarantine” is based.

Vacancy,” while not the greatest movie ever made, was fun and entertaining. A nice “put your brain on hold” kinda movie with a few nice scares.

In other news …
I was a total bad boy and ordered too much Dr. Who on DVD today!

Yes!

Over 20 years after “West End Girls” made them a name, the Pet Shop Boys have a new album out in Europe (it hits the States on April 21st). Man, is it good … it’s pure pop brilliance! “RUN!” and don’t walk to pick up “Yes.” Or better yet, spring for “Yes Etc.” with a bonus disc of dub mixes.
