A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM AT THE SURFACE AND ALOFT WILL MOVE ACROSS WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA TUESDAY. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN AROUND DAYBREAK&#8230; WITH SNOWFALL BECOMING HEAVY DURING THE MORNING. SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE 4 TO 6 INCH RANGE&#8230; WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS&#8230; ESPECIALLY IN HIGHEST ELEVATIONS NEAR THE TENNESSEE LINE. HEAVY SHOWERS&#8230; EVEN SOME THUNDERSTORMS&#8230; COULD OCCUR CAUSING VERY HEAVY SNOWFALL RATES. THIS COULD CAUSE LOCALIZED ACCUMULATIONS OF SEVERAL INCHES IN A SHORT TIME.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re calling for snow after we&#8217;ve had &#8220;short sleeve weather&#8221; for the past few days.
