People sure do suck. Ugh!<\/p>\n
We know a couple that we became friends with about eleven years ago. I thought<\/em> we had become pretty good friends with them. Dinners and excursions out and about. Invites back and forth to parties and dinners at each other’s houses. Quite a few fun, drunken nights. Then, in 2023, we got blacklisted for some reason. I have my theories as to what happened, but I won’t speculate here because I have been told different reasons by multiple people. Needless to say, this was pretty hurtful to be ghosted by people that I thought were friends and that I thought we could talk to directly about any issues.<\/p>\n We haven’t had any meaningful contact in well over two years now. In the interim, I unfriended this couple on the socials because I didn’t see why they should have access to my life since we had been cut off from theirs. David, however, hadn’t unfriended them. Over the past year, the older of the couple has commented on a few of David’s posts. Over Christmas last year, he called (I didn’t answer) and then texted me (I didn’t respond) about missing the good ole days. He told a mutual friend that “he didn’t understand why they didn’t hear from us anymore.” He sent David a “Happy Birthday” message a few days ago. What the hell?!<\/p>\n After hearing about the “he didn’t understand why they didn’t hear from us anymore” statement, I sat down and wrote a long email detailing everything from my perspective. I never sent it. In my mind, sending the email was opening the door for a response. I don’t think I want a response. Because even if he apologized, I don’t think I want to be friends again with people who so easily cut us out of their lives.<\/p>\n But, dear god, it makes my eye twitch when I see he’s acting as if nothing has happened and comments on posts and messages David. It makes my eye twitch to the point that it puts me in a foul mood for the rest of the day.
