Well. We survived the remnants of Hurricane Florence. There had been talk for days about strong winds and torrential rains. What we ended up with here on the creek was a nice steady rain all day yesterday and no wind to speak of. I checked the creek this morning and it’s nowhere near as high as when Hurricanes Frances and Ivan spanked us back in 2004. Yay!<\/p>\n
Not so “Yay!” is a Facebook post I saw on Saturday night that made me feel marginalized and unimportant. So, I woke up yesterday in a pretty rotten mood and then made the bad decision to consume half a fifth of rye. It didn’t end too well (as you can imagine).
