Remember when I mentioned winning an eBay auction while stuck in traffic on the way to Charleston, SC? Well, here it is … Duran Duran’s Into the Area Board Game<\/strong><\/a> (released in 1985 by Milton Bradley). As you can tell by the graphics, this was released to coincide with the Arena<\/strong><\/em><\/a> live album and the Arena (An Absurd Notion)<\/strong><\/em><\/a> concert video. One of the super cool things about the game is that it’s graphics were designed by Assorted iMaGes<\/strong><\/a> (who had been doing all the designs for Duran Duran releases at that point).<\/p>\n

I didn’t even realize there was a Duran Duran board game<\/strong><\/a> until I ran across a mention of it about a year ago. Since then I have been trying to find a reasonably priced copy. And, thanks to eBay, I scored a copy for just a little over $40 shipped. YES! Now I just need to find some friends to play it with.<\/p>\n

\nI also won an auction for a VHS of the Duran Duran<\/em> video album<\/strong><\/a>. It contains the first 11 Duran Duran videos and was released in 1983 on Beta video, CED videodisc, LaserDisc<\/a>, VHD disc, and VHS. I rented this A LOT from one of the local video stores (of which I can’t remember the name) back in the day. It’s a bit of a bummer that this hasn’t made its way on to DVD. The Greatest<\/em> DVD<\/a><\/strong> release from 2004 has all these videos but it’s not quite the same as all the videos are viewed one at a time with breaks between them. The Duran Duran<\/em> release has the 11 videos cleverly edited together for a continuous viewing experience.<\/span><\/p>\n
