It has some brilliant moments of terror but is also filled with a lot of silliness that ultimately deadens the movie&#8217;s impact.<\/p>\n<p>That stuff is gone from the remake. &#8220;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Last_House_on_the_Left_(2009_film)\" target=\"_blank\">The Last House on the Left<\/a><\/strong>&#8221; is now a lean, mean revenge thriller machine. There are solid performances. There&#8217;s damn fine gore.
