How frustrated am I with “The Producers” right now?<\/p>\n
VERY!<\/p>\n
We are about 3-1\/2 weeks out from opening and so far we haven’t really touched anything that I am in.<\/p>\n
As of now, we have:
\n– Not choreographed or even basically staged “Keep It Gay”
\n– Not run through “It’s Bad Luck To Say Good Luck on Opening Night”
\n– Barely gone through “Springtime for Hitler”
\n– Not worked on the Tap Dancing solo I have in that number
\n– Not \u00a0touched “Prisoners of Love”<\/p>\n
I went to rehearsal tonight and basically all I got to do was the one page lead in to “Keep It Gay” and that was pretty much it. Most of the time was spent running the opening of the show (“Opening Night” and “King of Broadway”) and the closing of Act One (“Along Came Bialy”). Not that these are not valid things to work on. It’s just frustrating that the solos and smaller numbers are getting shafted to spend time working (and re-working) big numbers that have already been staged.<\/p>\n
Hopefully the rest of this week will go better … and I will get some direction on at least a few of the above mentioned points.<\/p>\n
