\nPT, Michael and I headed into the woods for a hike this past Saturday. We went back to the cascade (and rock cliff) on Sam Branch<\/strong><\/a>. PT and I have done this trail a few times but Michael was a newbie to it have just moved back to the glorious mountains. I always forget just how dang steep this trail is. There are some more pictures and things that you can see inside.<\/p>\n

\nSam Branch is quite beautiful with lots of cascades and small waterfalls.<\/p>\n

\nSomehow PT dropped his special cork screw in the water. Fortunately the rushing water didn’t carry it away. After some moving of rocks and climbing down a hole, he was able to retrieve it.<\/p>\n

When you are on top of the rock, you can look up the mountain and see that there is a huge waterfall that starts Sam Branch’s run down the mountain. After lunch we tried to follow what looked like a trail further up the rocks to see if it would lead towards that waterfall. After just a few minutes (and many run-ins with briers and brambles), it was clear that this is not the way to the top. I imagine that we will have to follow Sam Branch all the way to the top.<\/p>\n

PT, Michael and I all vowed that the next time we come here that we are gonna make it all the way up to that waterfall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
