\nMy purchase of The Ring<\/b> yesterday got me thinking. Why is it that movie studios shell out tons of money for artwork for the theatrical release of a film only to ditch that art when the movie makes it to video? As a graphic artist, this really bugs me. There has been some spectacular art just tossed to the side. Ocean’s 11<\/b> is one of my favorite examples. You have this really sweet art that is tossed away for a bad collage of the cast. Maybe the thinking is that folks won’t buy the video\/dvd without Bad Pitt and George Clooney’s faces plastered all over the box. Meanwhile, studios are paying twice for someone like me to come up with graphics. That’s just dumb … in my opinion.~<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
