So, bucking medical advice (or orders as it were), I have not started taking the fun little yellow pill that is Paxil. Things have been a lot smoother this last week as far as nerves\/anxiety go. Supposedly my Doc’s office put in a referral for me to go to see a General Psychiatrist. I actually would like to see someone who knows a little bit more in this specific field. Maybe the Psych could give some ideas on where the anxiety is coming from and how to control it a little better without having to be back on brain meds for six-months or a year.<\/p>\n
You might have noticed that I said “supposedly” the referral was sent in. It’s now been a week since I was told this was happening and that the Psych’s office would give me call to set up the appointment. I haven’t heard anything yet. This is what I hate about the medical establishment. Everything seems to move at a snail’s pace unless you’re having a cardiac event (as heart attacks are now called). I guess I am just gonna have to call this afternoon and harrass the folks to see if they even got the referral in the first place. This just is a pain as the better I feel the less inclined I am to think that I need to go.<\/p>\n
