{"id":2256,"date":"2006-11-15T11:11:34","date_gmt":"2006-11-15T16:11:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cgm13.net\/wordpress\/?p=2256"},"modified":"2006-11-15T11:26:46","modified_gmt":"2006-11-15T16:26:46","slug":"strep-throat-updated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theboywonder.net\/?p=2256","title":{"rendered":"Strep Throat: Updated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, I went back to my doctor yesterday and he confirmed pretty much what I suspected &#8230; that my old friend <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/healthlink.mcw.edu\/article\/955152510.html\"><strong>Streptococcal Pharyngitis<\/strong><\/a> is back. The Doc seems to think that I just have a really resilient strain of the stuff and that the last round of drugs didn&#8217;t clear it up totally. So, now I am on 1500 mg a day of Penicillin for the next ten days.<\/p>\n<p>If I relaspe a third time &#8230; then he said we would check and see if I might be getting sick off the totally cute fella I have been kissing on. Apparently one can be a strep &#8220;carrier&#8221; and not show symptoms. That would be my luck. Totally Hot Kisser plus Carrier of Illness. But honestly, I am not too worried about it right now. I&#8217;ll deal with that if it happens again.<\/p>\n<p>I have felt nowhere near as bad this time around which is great. I have a slightly sore throat, no temperature and just feel a wee tired. It&#8217;s not even been close to what it was like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theboywonder.net\/?p=2234\"><strong>a couple of weeks ago<\/strong><\/a> when I totally thought I was gonna die.<\/p>\n<p>Strep is also a wonderful thing &#8230; especially when you can chase away pesky co-workers with the threat of breathing on them.
