John (not his real name, of course) is a guy that’s done a few shows down at the local theater. He’s cute. He’s young. He was always on about the ladies, but something always seemed a little “off.” I ran into him over in Asheville last night after having not seen him for about a year. We chatted for a few minutes … catching up on what each other has been into. John turns around and pulls another fella over and introduces him as “the boyfriend.” The Boyfriend is equally young and cute. We talked for a bit about various theater oriented projects and other things. They both looked very happy together. It made me happy. Happy because they have each other. It made sad.
