May & June 2003
My fourth time
at the helm of a show was an updated version of "Rope,"
the Hitchcock film from the 1950's. I learned quite a few things
doing this show ... most notably to never be interviewed by
any newspaper ever again. I also figured out that updating the
show probably wasn't the best thing to do because my "gay
couple" ended up not being any more obviously homosexual
than the folks in the movie. Oh well. I was blessed again with
a great cast (non-gayness aside) and a very nice set design.
I still want that sofa that we had on the set ... but somehow
I doubt that I will ever pay $2,500 for a sofa. We ended up
getting good press in one of the local papers and getting ripped
to shreds by another. Ah, show business. As always, click on
an image and it will get you into a gallery of larger images.
Enjoy!
