The Past

With my renewed interest in this blog, it’s been interesting to go back and look through the Archives (accessed by the menu button in the upper right corner). A lot of good and bad memories have been housed in this website over the past 10+ years. One thing I have noticed are a lot of broken links, missing pages, and “unavailable” YouTube videos. A lot of the links will probably remain broken as who knows if some of that content is still readily linkable. I guess when you have had a blog as long as I have, some links are made to broken. But, I will fix the YouTube videos as I can and maybe rebuild some of those missing pages. I may also go back and add some context or comments on the past three years of Instagram photos.

“Onward and Upward” as they say.

The Past

[First] Blog Post

This isn’t my first post … but in a way it is my first post. For the past few years, this poor blog has been nothing but a gloried mirror of my Instagram feed. No more. I plan on trying to blog here more. And this blog deserves it as it will turn 15 years old in November. Jesus. That’s hard to believe.

Also … do you like social media too? Who doesn’t?! You can connect with me via the icons along the top.

Ravenel

Ravenel.
On this day, David and I walked the length of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. It spans the Cooper River and connects Downtown Charleston to Mount Pleasant (where David currently resides). It’s lit with tons of white light at night. Personally, I wish they had a way to change the lighting color. I think that would be super cool.

Long Time …

Well … here we are in October which is three months or so since that last post.

I blame social media. There is just too much other distraction what with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instragram, Vine, etc., etc., etc.

I also blame The Boyfriend. He was here for the summer and that distracted me a lot of the time. That was good.

I also blame “Avenue Q.” I started directing the local theater’s production right when The Boyfriend headed back to school. That ate up a week of casting, seven weeks of rehearsals and three weekends of performances. We ended up with a better cast than I could have ever hoped for and they made the show really shine. This a good thing too!

I also blame stress and worry. I have had several major car repairs. And I ended up having to have the house re-shingled (not a cheap bill) because of a leak only to discover there is still somewhere that the water is getting in. Argh. And I have some plumbing issues that need to be looked into. And Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina is using the Affordable Care Act as an excuse to jack my monthly insurance premium about 120%. Seriously.

Seems like the bad stuff in 2014 is outweighing the good stuff. Sometimes I am not sure how people make it all the way through life.

Long Time …

Alive

Hanging out with The Bowser
Here’s some photographic proof (from last night) that I am indeed still alive.

What’s been going on? Too much work! Plus, the boyfriend is in town for him summer break from PhD-ing … so that has been keeping me plenty distracted. Yeah!

Blog Abuse [2013 Edition]

I don’t hate you, blog. I really don’t!

This life. This year.

Every day I think “I need to post something.” And then I never get around to it.

I have been in a little bit of a funk so far this year. It makes life dull and tedious. It also makes thinking about this blog a little difficult.

Do you, humble reader, really need to hear about me hanging around the house all the time and not going out much? Do you really need to hear about all the time I spend on the sofa staring at Netflix movies? Do you really need to hear that I have too much work to do?

It can be as tedious as it sounds.

Hopefully the newly arrived warmer weather will help improve my mood.

Also, the boyfriend is back from Michigan in a week or so for the summer.

And there is some new Pet Shop Boys coming …

And the Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit

And “Avenue Q” in September/October.
